Cecily Legler Strong, an American stand-up comic and actor is well known for her part as a character on the show 'Saturday night Live.' Her stage career started in the theatre and she found herself attracted to comedy after she took an improv workshop at 9 years old. The first time she performed was aboard cruise ships along with participants of Second City Conservatory and iO Chicago. Strong performed at popular events like Chicago Sketch Fest and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. She performed with Virgin Daiquiri which is an all-female troupe - as well New York Sketchfest. The actress became a household name in 2012 after she appeared on "Saturday Night Live" in the 39th season as a cast member as a co-anchor on Weekend Update with Seth Meyers initially, and Colin Jost later. One of the most significant moments for Cecily in the show was in the episode 'The Girl You'd Rather Not Engaged in a Conversation With at a Dinner Party'. That same year, she made her movie debut in 'How To Sponsor A Uterus. Her views are openly opposed to the portrayal of women in showbiz as mere bikini-models or girlfriends instead of as imposing characters in mainstream films.
